The BJP on Tuesday hit out at Jnanpith award winner U.R. Ananthamurthy for his critical remarks against Narendra Modi aspiring to the position of Prime Minister, describing him as “parasite-like” who knows the art of “adjusting himself” to the changed political scenario in the State.

Addressing presspersons here, BJP State general Secretary and MLC C.T. Ravi said: “I will not be surprised if he (Prof. Ananthamurthy) one day appreciates the BJP’s rule in the country.”

Prof. Ananthamurthy, who was once critical of the Congress, has started appreciating the Congress government after it came to power, he said. Earlier, the writer was a supporter of the Janata Dal(S), Mr. Ravi said.
