Factual errors

March 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - BELAGAVI:

Yogi Adityanath, MP, and Mahant of Goraksha Peeth, mispronounced the name of Kittur Rani Channamma and erred while referring to some historical facts at the Virat Hindu Samavesh organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad here on Sunday.

Adityanath said he was blessed to have travelled to Hubballi by “Rani Channappa Express” last night and repeatedly referred to the queen as “Rani Channappa” throughout his speech. Then he said “Rani Channappa” was a great source of inspiration and icon of patriotism because of her rebellion against the British army “in 1924.” The queen’s name is Rani Channamma and the war was in 1824.
