Explosives seized; two arrested

The K.R. Pet Rural police seized detonators and explosives from two persons on Thursday.

They were identified as Ramesh and Gurumurthy of Basavanahalli, near K.R. Pet in the district. According to the police, the accused were carrying the seized materials in a bag when the police arrested them.

“We have registered a case against them under several sections of the Indian Explosives Act and arrested them,” a senior police officer told The Hindu.

‘To kill fish’

According to preliminary investigation, the accused were carrying the explosives to kill fish in waterbodies in and around K.R. Pet.
