One person died on the spot and two others were injured when a car in which they were travelling overturned near Javagondanhalli village in Hiriyur taluk of Chitradurga district here on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Aravind (44), son of former MLA of Hosadurga Assembly constituency, Vijay Kumar.
The injured have been admitted to the Government Hospital for treatment and a case is registered in Hiriyur police station. According to police sources the incident occurred when the driver lost control over the vehicle.
