The Sahara Art and Craft Shopping Festival is back in the city with a variety of pottery, handicraft and handloom items on display.
The expo, that began on July 28, will continue till September 10. It is being held at the Scout and Guides’ Ground behind the DC’s office. Held twice a year, the festival features a wide repertoire of items from across the country.
It provides an opportunity for artisans to interact with customers and apprise themselves of latest designs and tastes to tailor products to suit current trends. The platform also eliminates the scourge of the middlemen as the artisans showcase the products and sell them directly to customers, retaining a higher margin of profit.
