A person was trampled to death by an elephant near Kanive Basavanahalli near Alur on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Chikkanna (60). He was found dead roadside.
Deputy Conservator of Forests Ganesh Bhat said efforts were on to track the animal.
