Elephant herd spotted in Tumkur

The elephants entered Tumkur district from Savanadurga forest in Magadi taluk on Tuesday.

A herd of four elephants, one tusker and three female elephants, was spotted at Mallasandra tank in Tumkur taluk on Wednesday.

The elephants entered Tumkur district from Savanadurga forest in Magadi taluk on Tuesday.

Range Forest Officer Narasimhamurthy said that three teams comprising 20 forest personnel have been formed to drive the herd back to the forest.

The Forest Department had driven away a herd of six elephants from Tumkur district on December 20 last year.
