Eight persons, including four women and two children, were killed and seven others injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a private bus in Uttara Kannada District today.

The accident occurred when a ‘tum-tum’ (three—wheeler) carrying 15 passengers and the bus collided at near Kesarolli village, about 130 km from here, Dandeli Deputy Superintendent of Police M L Nayak told PTI.

The deceased included two girls aged about two years, he said adding the victims remain to be identified.

Three injured were admitted to a hospital in Hubli while the other four to Haliyal hovernment Hospital.
