The II Pre-University (PU) course exam results are out, but that is just the first hurdle that students have crossed. To help them with the next step, The Hindu EducationPlus Career Counselling 2013, which has seen a tremendous response in the previous years, is back with a brand new edition.
An off-page extension of our weekly supplement, The Hindu EducationPlus, The Hindu EducationPlus Career Counselling 2013 will be held in 15 centres this time, one up from last year. The sessions in Bangalore and Tumkur will be held on May 19, in addition to Bellary, Udupi, Bijapur and Mangalore.
In Bangalore, Microsoft Research Centre Managing Director P. Anandan will be the chief guest. Drawing from his long and illustrious career in computer science and research, Dr. Anandan will speak on careers and research, and what it takes to be at the cutting edge of one’s chosen path or career.
Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) officials, U.S. Badigar and N.S. Chandrashekhar, will take questions from students regarding the Common Entrance Test (CET) process and demystify the online counselling procedure.
The others on the panel will cover other aspects of careers and courses: Ameen E. Mudassar, a leading career counsellor, will speak on general education; H. Shivanna, Dean (College of Agriculture), University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, will be there to throw light on farm courses; and the former Principal, M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore, K. Rajnikanth, will help engineering students clear their doubts, in the two-and-a-half hour session.
At Tumkur, Basavarajaiah, Dean, Siddaganga Institute of Technology, is the chief guest. KEA official Anandaraju A. will field questions from students on CET.
Mahidhara Davangere, Managing Director, Pramartha Consulting, Bangalore, will speak on general education. G.M. Sujith, Programme Co-ordinator, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Konehalli, Tumkur, will take issues related to farm courses.
Nagaraj from Shridevi College of Engineering and Technology, Tumkur, will address questions on engineering courses.
