Drivers continue protest

Tired of having their vehicles seized by the RTO and of paying fines to get the vehicles released, several driver-partners who have tied up with Ola and Uber have been organising snap protests across the city over the past few days.

There were reports of some drivers even resorting to asking passengers to get down mid-way through the trip as a mark of protest.

According to Transport Department officials, several drivers have come forward voluntarily and have said that they would stop plying for the aggregators if these issues are not dealt with immediately.

In the meantime, Ola management has been trying to pacify drivers by agreeing to pay whatever fine that has been imposed by the Regional Transport Office.
