Downpour leaves roads flooded

Hassan city received heavy rain on Friday afternoon.

The roads were flooded, affecting vehicular movement in different locations of the city and the outskirts. Three cows belonging to a farmer, Siddaiah, at Togaranahalli in Alur taluk were struck dead by lightning.

The rain that started around 4 p.m. continued till 6.30 p.m. Commuters going home after office hours had a tough time. Pedestrians were seen running for shelter.

Vehicle movement on B.M. Road and M.G. Road was affected. Houses in low-lying areas were flooded, leaving residents in a quandary.
