A team of five doctors from Karnataka are heading to Jammu and Kashmir to volunteer for medical assistance to flood survivors.
Health Minister U.T. Khader told The Hindu, these doctors will leave Bangalore tonight for Delhi from where they will proceed to Srinagar. He said the Karnataka Government had offered to provide medical assistance in any area that would be assigned by the centre.
Although the Karnataka Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) had prepared a list of 17 doctors who volunteered to go to Jammu and Kashmir, a team of five had been shortlisted initially due to logistical problems.
The team includes a Vivek Dorai, senior Orthopaedician from Ramnagaram General Hospital, and Vishwajith Naik and Mahendra, two anesthetists/intensivists.
