Bengaluru Central Prison saw another day of high drama on Thursday, this time involving AIADMK deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran. Along with a few of his supporters, he visited the prison seeking permission to meet AIADMK leader V.K. Sasikala. However, he had to return without meeting her as the prison staff refused permission citing prison regulations.
Heated arguments ensued between Mr. Dhinakaran’s supporters and the prison staff when the latter refused to allow the meeting and did not budge despite repeated requests from the group. After waiting at the entrance for a few minutes, Mr. Dhinakaran left stating that he would return on Friday with due permission.
Speaking to presspersons outside the prison, Mr. Dhinakaran refuted allegations that Ms. Sasikala had been given preferential treatment inside the prison and that prison staff had been paid money.
He clarified that he had not made any request to shift Ms. Sasikala to another prison.
