DGCA officials begin spot inspection

Following the narrow escape of Bengaluru-Hubballi SpiceJet SG 1085 aircraft veering off the runway at Hubballi airport on Sunday evening, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials began spot inspection as part of an inquiry on Tuesday morning.

According to airport sources, the team sent by the DGCA, New Delhi, which reached Hubballi on Monday evening, began the inspection of the spot early in the morning.

The sources revealed that the inspection was likely to go on till evening. In the wake of the inspection, no media person was allowed inside the airport terminal and the officials declined to make any official statement.

The airport authorities have announced that the flight services would be suspended till completion of the inquiry.
