Devendra murder: special police teams constituted

The city police has begun investigation into the murder of Devendra (35), a rowdy-sheeter, by constituting two special teams.

“The investigation is in full swing,” said Commissioner B. Dayananda.

The special teams, headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, NR sub-division, Umesh Shet, and Assistant Commissioner of Police, CCB, Gopal C., and comprising a couple of police inspectors have begun the investigation by questioning eyewitnesses in Paduvarahalli and collecting the recording of CCTV cameras in the vicinity. “Our investigation is proceeding on the basis of certain clues that we have managed to get,” Mr. Dayananda said.

Devendra, who was in real estate business, was killed by a gang of 10 armed men, who came in a SUV, while was talking with his friends in Paduvarahalli near his house on Thursday morning.

Devendra, a witness in the double murder case involving JD(S) councillor Mahadesh, was also an accused in the murder of one Kariappa in T K Layout in 2010.
