The Revenue Department, on Sunday, conducted a revenue adalat at Salagame village near here. The officers received a number of applications by the villagers on the spot.

Hassan MLA H.S. Prakash, Assistant Commissioner Dr. H.L. Nagaraj and other officers of the department took part in the adalat.

The officers received as many as 180 applications related to transfer of khatas, mutation and grant of land. They attended to many applications on the spot.

Mr. Prakash said the government ought to improve the administration so that villagers would not have to travel to taluk or district headquarters to get their records.

“Villagers should be able to avail of services in their village itself,” he said.

Mr. Nagaraju said the department would conduct many more adalats in the coming days.
