Rame Gowda and Basavaraj Malagatti, who were transferred before the Assembly elections, on Thursday reassumed their posts of Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) respectively.
Dr. Rame Gowda assumed charge from Additional Deputy Commissioner Naga Naik.
C. Shikha, who was managing director of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), was transferred as Deputy Commissioner after Dr. Rame Gowda was shifted. Shantanu Sinha had been posted as DCP (Law and Order) after Mr. Malagatti’s transfer.
Speaking to presspersons after assuming charge, Dr. Rame Gowda hinted at establishing a squad consisting of officials and doctors from the Department of Health and Family Welfare to tackle the spread of dengue, chikungunya and malaria.
He also said the administration would take steps to check the illegal sale and hoarding of gutka.
The Revenue Department would be streamlined and teams constituted to check illegal transportation of rice from the district, he added.
