Decision on Sharief soon: Krishnappa

State Janata Dal (Secular) president A. Krishnappa has said the former Railways Minister C.K. Jaffer Sharief has expressed willingness to contest either from Bangalore Central or Mysore Lok Sabha constituencies on his party ticket.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Krishnappa said that the decision on Mr. Sharief’s constituency will be taken in a day or two, after Mr. Sharief returns from Makkah. He said that the final list of candidates will be announced on March 19. Asked about the former legislator Anita Kumaraswamy contesting from Chickballapur parliamentary constituency, Mr. Krishnappa said that her candidature cannot be ruled out.

Mr. Krishnappa said that he will file the nomination papers on March 19 from Tumkur Lok Sabha constituency.

JD(S) district president M.R. Hulinayakar was present.
