Television viewers in Bangalore and Mysore cities can continue to receive analog television signals for another four days, with the Karnataka High Court on Monday asking the authorities not to discontinue analog signals till April 5.

Justice S. Abdul Nazeer passed the order while extending the earlier interim order by which authorities were directed to continue analog signals till April 1. The court passed the orders while hearing petitions filed by the Karnataka Cable Television Operators Association and the Mysore District Cable Operators Association.

While the association from Mysore has contended that as the population of Mysore is less than one million, the city should have been in the list of places for which deadline is November 30, 2014, the Karnataka association claimed that the deadline had to be extended due to unavailability of sufficient number of set-top boxes.
