Debt-ridden farmer ends life

A 58-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his residence on Tuesday as he was unable to clear his loans. The farmer, Lakshman of Chikkasomanahalli in K.R. Pet taluk, had borrowed Rs. 1.25 lakh from a nationalised bank, and other amounts from private financiers, police said. He owned three acres of land.
