Death of pregnant woman triggers protest

The relatives of a pregnant woman, who died of alleged negligence by the doctors in a private hospital, staged protest at the hospital in Gowribidnur town in Chickaballapur district on Monday.

Sowmya (22) had been admitted to the hospital for delivery. However, she died in the hospital.

Enraged over the death, Sowmya’s relatives gathered at the hospital and charged the doctors and hospital authorities of negligence causing the death.

Police controlled the mob and averted untoward incidents.
