The daughter-in-law and grandson of the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda have hit the campaign trail in his support.

While Prajwal Revanna campaigned in Hassan, along with the Janata Dal (Secular) MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan, on Sunday evening, his mother, Bhavani Revanna, campaigned at a few places in Belur taluk on Monday.

Mr. Prajwal and Mr. Khan participated in a roadshow on the Hoseline road and in Srinagara, Ambedkar Nagar, Santepet and Vallabhabai road.

Ms. Bhavani visited Mulenahalli, Bantenahalli, Angadihalli and neighbouring villages in the Belur Assembly constituency limits. During her campaign, Ms. Bhavani listed out the various programmes launched by Mr. Gowda and Mr. Revanna when they were in power. She said she would cover the entire Lok Sabha constituency and campaign for her father-in-law.

Later, she told presspersons that she would contest elections in future if Mr. Gowda wanted her to do so.

About her son, Mr. Prajwal, she said that he had actively campaigned for the party candidate during the 2013 Legislative Assembly polls, which he had continued to do for the Lok Sabha polls as well.

Janata Dal (Secular) leaders K.S. Lingesh and G.T. Indira accompanied Ms. Bhavani during the campaign.
