‘Dasa sahitya is timeless’

November 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - Bidar:

Scholars should try to draw parallels between the literature produced by the Sharanas and the Dasas and not try to find the differences between them, Aravind Jatti, president, Basava Samiti, said in Bidar on Sunday.

He was speaking at the 5th anniversary of the Dasa Sahitya Parishat. After five centuries, Dasa sahitya has proven its timelessness. It also speaks of similar principles of the Sharanas. “We should work towards finding the similarities and not the differences,” Mr. Jatti said. This would lead to better understanding of both the philosophies and lead to harmony, he said.

Sri Basavalinga Pattaddevaru, seer of the Bhalki Hire Mutt, Suresh Channashetty of the Yuva Basava Kendra, and others were present.
