To our question last fortnight: Was the police action against Baba Ramdev's anti-corruption agitation warranted or did the Centre bungle up? Radhika Mahalingaiah writes:
The Centre did bungle up and it could have been handled better. Police intervention is never the answer in a democracy, especially when protesters are involved. It will seem like dictatorship if it is pushed beyond a point. The Government, instead of having backdoor talks with Baba Ramdev, should have been open about it.
Our query this week: Should people in public office use religion and places of worship to resolve political disputes?
