A couple was killed and their daughter injured when a bus belonged to the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation hit a motorbike near Halga village on Pune-Bengaluru NH4, 10 km from here on Friday.
Basavant Sayanak (40) was killed on the spot, while his wife Karuna (30) succumbed to injuries before she could be shifted to hospital. Their 10-year-old daughter fractured her leg and is undergoing treatment at the district government hospital in the city.
The three were travelling on a motorbike to their home in Angol in the city when the accident occurred. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
The police said the driver has been arrested and a case registered with the Hire Bagewadi Police Station.
