The photo exhibition ‘Ek Saal – Shuruvath Anek’ has been launched to highlight the achievements of union government in the last one year and also create awareness among common man on how to get benefits of government schemes. In order to ensure social security to workers in small scale industries and other sectors, the Union government has launched several schemes and awareness programmes should be conducted to ensure benefits of these schemes to needy people, he added.

Owing to sustained efforts of Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises G.M. Siddeshwar, Davangere city has been selected for the smart city programmes, he added.

Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises G.M. Siddeshwar said that steps had been taken to upgrade the national highway from Haveri to Chitradurga to a six-lane road, and to upgrade Harihar and Davangere railway stations under the Adarsh station scheme. He distributed 21 motorcycles to persons with disabilities. Deputy Commissioner S.T. Anjan Kumar, and former MLAs S.A. Ravindranath, Karunakar Reddy, Madalu Virupakshappa, S.V.
