Counselling session in Ballari today

The eagerly-awaited annual career counselling and guidance session organised by The Hindu EducationPlus, will be held at the Basavarajeshwari Public School and College (BPSC) auditorium on Dr. Rajkumar Road (Anantapur Road) on Saturday at 10 a.m.

This is the fourth year in succession that the career counselling session is being held here to help and guide students who have passed PU/ Class 12 to select the right kind of course best suited to shape their academic and professional career.

The session will also provide a platform for students and parents to hear and engage face-to-face with key common entrance test (CET) admission officials and subject experts to know about various options available for them.

To guide students through the career process and help them to make an informed choice, The Hindu Education Plus has published a handbook titled ‘The Nxt Step’, a well-researched compilation of various articles written by subject experts in each field, keeping the interest of the students in mind. Students attending the session would be given a copy of the handbook free of cost.

The session will be inaugurated by Dr. S. Jayanna, Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ballari.

Ameen Muddasar, general education expert, will dwell upon the opportunities open to the students to choose the right course. Vidyadhar Kinhal, Principal of Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Science, will speak on opportunities in the field medicine and also about the importance of paramedical courses, while Prithviraj, Deputy Director, Ballari Institute of Technology and Management, will explain the scope of pursuing engineering courses. For the first time, an expert from the field of Chartered Accountancy is invited to highlight the avenues available in this sector. In addition, an official from the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will explain the counselling process and online counselling for the students who have written the CET besides answering their queries.

For the first time, A. Siddarameshwar Gowda, a Chartered Accountant, will be speaking about the avenues available in this sector.

Students of Classes 10, 11 and 12 and PU, along with their parents, can attend. Students are requested to arrive at the venue 30 minutes before for spot registration.
