The Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the main intention behind the murder of its activist and Bommasandra Town Municipal Council member Srinivas Prasad was to stop him from becoming the next president of the TMC.

In a press release here, BJP State general secretary Arvind Limbavali said Prasad was fast emerging as a popular leader of the area and had the chance to become the TMC president soon. Another State general secretary of the party P. Ravi Kumar said, “Some political forces which failed to tackle him politically have joined hands with anti-social elements to murder him in a bid to prevent him from becoming the TMC president.”

The party has also given a call for a Statewide protest on Thursday against the murder.

Condemning the murder, party State president B.S. Yeddyurappa alleged that the incident had again proved that law and order in the State had collapsed.
