The Kolar district unit of Ahinda Sanghatanegala Maha Okkoota on Monday alleged that a senior official of the district Social Welfare Department had received a bribe from a contractor in connection with water supply to hostels.

B. Srinivas, district president of the Okkoota, told reporters that the official had received a bribe of ₹ 50,000 at his office chamber recently from a contractor who bagged the contract to supply water to the hostels run by the Social Welfare Department in Bangarpet taluk.

The organisation will file a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in this connection, Mr. Srinivas said.
