‘Constitution is the scripture of Indians’

Health and Family Welfare and district in-charge Minister, U.T. Khader said the Constitution is like the holy scripture of Indians.

“While people of different faiths have different holy scriptures such as Bhagavad Geeta, Quran and Bible, the Constitution is the scripture of the Indian people as a whole”, Mr. Khader said in his speech after receiving guard of honour at the function to mark Republic Day at Sir M. Visveswaraya district stadium here on Monday.

“People should leave their religious faiths at their homes and live together as brothers and sisters in the society”, Mr. Khader said. He stressed on the harmony between people of different faith for the healthy development of the society.

While remembering stalwarts of freedom fighters of the country, Mr. Khader also paid glowing tributes to districts veteran freedom fighters including K.C. Reddy, K. Pattabhiraman and T. Chennaiah.

Mr. Khader felicitated Additional Superintendent of Police M.I. Jameel who has been selected for President’s medal for meritorious service.

MLC D.S. Veeraiah, Deputy Commissioner K.V. Thrilokchandra, Superintendent of Police Ajay Hilori, Assistant Commissioner S.N. Manjunath, CMC president B.M. Mubarak participated among others.
