Congress wins in Puttur

The first seat to be declared elected in the elections to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly went to the Congress party with Shakuntala Shetty winning the Puttur Assembly segment by 2,672 votes.

Ms. Shetty was formerly with the BJP and joined the Congress just ahead of the Assembly polls.
