After V.R. Sudarshan in Kolar Assembly constituency, it is the turn of N. Sampangi to revolt against the Congress for not considering his name for contesting from Bagepalli in Chickballapur district.

Holding a meeting at Bagepalli on Monday with supporters and well-wishers Mr. Sampangi, a two-time MLA, said he will announce his decision soon after more consultations.

Congress chose S.N. Subba Reddy as its candidate, causing ripples in the party. An upset Mr. Sampangi broke down and was inconsolable. The former legislator blamed MP M. Veerappa Moily for not being able to get the ticket.

CPI(M) State unit secretary G.V. Sriram Reddy will contest from the Bagepalli seat on behalf of his party.

It may be recalled here that Mr. Sudarshan quit the KPCC vice-president post in protest against not being given a ticket. He also held a meeting with his supporters, but not yet announced any decision.
