Congress protest NDA’s ‘hate politics’

The District Congress Committee condemned the alleged “hate politics” pursued by the BJP-led NDA government against the Congress-ruled States, particularly Karnataka.

The workers, led by district president Vinay Balappa Navalgatti, took out a procession and staged a demonstration at Rani Channmma Circle in the city on Monday. They raised slogans against NDA, BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused them of ignoring Karnataka.

The Centre was not willing to resolve the long-pending dispute on sharing of Mahadayi basin waters between Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra, resulting in inordinate delay in implementation Kalasa-Banduri Nala project. The project was aimed at supplying drinking water to water starved cities, towns and villages of north Karnataka districts.

The DCC members submitted a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee through the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
