If voted to power, projects in the Krishna basin will be completed: Parameshwara

President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee G. Parameshwara has said that if his party assumes power in the State after the Assembly election, all pending irrigation projects in the Krishna basin would be completed.

He was speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the ‘Congress Nadige, Krishneya Kadege’, a walkathon organised to highlight the “State government’s failure” to implement the irrigation projects in the Krishna basin.

Dr. Parameshwara alleged that the BJP government was only making hollow promises of completing the irrigation projects in the Krishna basin.

“The BJP government has not taken up any major irrigation projects in the Krishna basin for the benefit of farmers of north Karnataka,” he said.

“The Congress, if voted to power, will certainly implement projects to improve irrigation and drinking water supply facilities for the people of the State”, he said.

Union Minister for Labour and Employment M. Mallikarjun Kharge spoke.
