Union Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Anant Kumar said it is regrettable that All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi and Congress spokespersons are trying to politicise the issue concerned with the Supreme Court judges’ press meet.
Speaking to reporters in Tumakuru on Saturday, he said that it is for the first time in history that such an incident has taken place which is very painful. The Supreme Court will sort out the issue within the framework of Constitution and Congress should not take political advantage out of it.
Referring to the statement made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah against RSS, BJP and Bajrang Dal, Mr. Anant Kumar said Mr. Siddaramaiah does not know constitutional fundamentals. “The BJP is a recognised political party and we do not need a certificate from Mr. Siddaramaiah.”
He said RSS has been revered by eminent people including a retired Supreme Court judge who had said after the Indian Army it is RSS that keeps India united and safe.
He said that his party will approach the court of law against Mr. Siddaramaiah and that he has to apologise in the court for his derogatory remarks against RSS and BJP. “The BJP will fight in the court and on the streets till Mr. Siddaramaiah apologises.”
Mr. Anant Kumar alleged that Mr. Siddaramaiah is scared that BJP will win 150 seats in the coming Assembly elections in the State. “Hence, out of frustration, he is making such statements.”
Former Minister Sogadu Shivanna, former MP G.S. Basavaraj and others were present.
