A private complaint was filed before the Special Lokayukta Court on Thursday against the former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda accusing him of offences ranging from land grab to misrepresentation of assets in his declaration before the Election Commission.

Complainant Nagalakshmi Bai submitted before the court that in 2008, Mr. Gowda’s wife Datty had purchased 7.5 guntas of land in Bangalore North taluk that was reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Also, Mr. Gowda failed to disclose this asset to the EC when he was nominated as an MLC.

Mr. Gowda allegedly purchased 10 cents of land in Dakshina Kannada in 1998 but failed to disclose this property. He also allegedly violated laws to amalgamate two plots.
