Commissioner of Tumakuru City Corporation accused of misappropriation of funds

Former Minister, S. Shivanna has accused the Commissioner of Tumakuru City Corporation of misappropriation of funds amounting to Rs. 8 crore in the construction of solid waste plant near Ajjagondanahalli on the outskirts of Tumakuru.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Shivanna alleged that all the machines purchased for the plant are of sub-standard quality and not scientifically built.

He demanded that the State government conduct an inquiry into the corruption at the construction of the plant.

He alleged that the members and officers including the Mayor of the Corporation and Commissioner are involved in the misappropriation of funds.

He also demanded to appoint an IAS officer as the Commissioner of the Corporation.

State secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party, M.B. Nandish, City Secretary, K.P. Mahesh and others were present.
