Amidst protests by disgruntled students and parents, the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) have decided to postpone the results of COMEDK from May 30 to June 8.
Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimane Ratnakar has also announced that the results of Common Entrance Test (CET) have been postponed by eight days.

The decisions of postponing were taken after the protests entered its fourth day in the premises of the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE), over the various complaints about the recently declared II Pre-University (PU) results.
A.S. Srikanth, Chief Executive Officer of COMEDK, said Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Kimane Ratnakar had requested the board to defer the results. “Even if a student has secured a good COMEDK rank, he won’t be eligible for admissions if his PUC results show that the student has failed…Only after the confusion is cleared, can the results be announced,” he said.
Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy along with BJP leader S. Suresh Kumar and PU Board Director Sushama Godbole interacted with PUC officials and students. Speaking on the matter, Mr. Kumaraswamy said that CET results should also be postponed as well. The revaluation and re-totalling fee should be waived off.

A large number of Police personnel have been deployed to ensure that the situation remains under control. Nobody is being allowed to enter the DPUE building.
Officials from the Pre-University Department announced that parents need not come to DPUE to collect marksheets. Instead, they can apply for the photocopy at Bangalore One and the scripts will be sent to them within 48 hours.
S. Suresh Kumar said that last year over 40,000 students had applied for photocopy, of which 19,700 went for revaluation. Of these 1,379 actually got additional marks.
