M.H. Ambareesh, Housing and district in-charge Minister, has directed the officials of all departments to judiciously utilise the funds allocated to them for development works.

Presiding over the quarterly Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) review meeting here on Saturday, Mr. Ambareesh said the State government was allocating/releasing funds for developmental projects. It was the responsibility of the officials to carefully utilise the funds, he said.

Mr. Ambareesh was irked by the Deputy Director of Public Instruction failing to furnish details of his department’s performance.

M.D. Shivakumar, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, failed to furnish details to MLAs regarding the construction of toilets in government schools.

Expressing displeasure over the inability of the DDPI to furnish details, Mr. Ambareesh instructed the official to construct toilets and compounds in schools, provide water connection to toilets and maintain cleanliness in the school premises at the earliest.

The Minister instructed the officials to come prepared for the review meetings. He directed them to initiate steps to solve the issues at primary health centres and fill the empty lakes through canals.

C.S. Puttaraju, MP; K.S. Puttannaiah, P.M. Narendra Swamy and K.C. Narayanagowda, MLAs; Manjula Paramesh, president of the zilla panchayat; M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan, Deputy Commissioner; and Rohini Sindhuri, zilla panchayat Chief Executive Officer were among those present.

Later, speaking to electronic media persons, Mr. Ambareesh said that the party had not discussed with him while finalising the list for the appointment of chairpersons to government boards and corporations. “There is no group politics in Mandya Congress,” he said and added that his supporters would not indulge in groupism.
