Cold-wave conditions continue in parts of NK

Some parts of Bombay Karnataka and Hyderabad Karnataka continued to face extreme cold-wave conditions after a brief respite, with Vijayapura recording the State’s lowest minimum temperature of 6.7 degrees Celsius and Belagavi airport recording the lowest minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius as per observations recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday.

The IMD said that cold-wave conditions would continue at night for three days from Sunday in some parts of Bombay Karnataka and Hyderabad Karnataka. The minimum temperature fell in many areas in the State, but rose at a few places in coastal Karnataka. In Vijayapura, the minimum temperature was 9 degrees Celsius lower than the normal minimum temperature recorded during the same period in previous years and the temperature at Belagavi airport was 5 degrees Celsius lower than the average minimum temperature recorded during the period in the past.

In the Hyderabad Karnataka region, Raichur recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, which was 7 degrees Celsius lower than the average minimum temperature recorded during the same period in the past.
