The bridge across river Tungabhadra linking Hampi and Anegundi will be inaugurated on Friday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the bridge across the Tungabhadra linking Hampi and Anegundi, lay foundation stone for a model engineering college at Talakal, and also set in motion various development projects in Koppal district on Friday.

The bridge, costing ₹40.38 crore, had to be built near Bukkasagar in Hosapete taluk linking Kadebagilu of Gangavati taluk after the controversial cable-stayed bridge under construction near Talwarghatta, upstream of river Tungabhadra, collapsed in January 2009.

Mr. Siddaramaiah will also flag off drinking water works, and inaugurate a building at Koppal Institute of Medical Science, a hospital at Kukanur, and a guesthouse at Koppal city.

Meanwhile, the entire city is getting spruced up for the mega event with Basavaraj Rayaraddi, Minister for Higher Education, overseeing the preparations.
