CM launches third phase of Nagarothana scheme

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday launched the third phase of Nagarothana scheme for providing infrastructure in urban local bodies, besides making them free from open defecation. Works costing ₹2,847 crore would be executed during the third phase. A sum of ₹1,454 crore and ₹1,810 crore have been spent during the first and second phase of the project, respectively. The Chief Minister told officials to use the financial resources economically and set a target to make all ULBs defecation free by October 2018.
