Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has defended the induction of legislator Ashok Kheny, businessman and politician, into the Congress, saying that he “had not gone to jail” like many BJP leaders in the State.

“No one can question Mr. Kheny’s entry,” Mr. Siddaramaiah told reporters in Delhi on Tuesday.

The House committee of the legislature has found many irregularities in the execution of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project, promoted by Mr. Kheny, a Lingayat leader from Bidar.
