CM convenes a meeting of district in-charge Ministers of HK region on Nov 23 in Bengaluru

The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has convened a meeting of the District in-charge Ministers of the six districts of Hyderabad Karnataka region along with the senior officials including the Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary and Principal Secretaries of the key departments to finalise the issues pertaining to Hyderabad Karnataka region which would be taken up for discussion in the November 28 cabinet meeting scheduled in Kalaburagi city.

Mr. Islam along with Medical Education Minister Sharanprakash Patil who chaired a meeting of the legislators of Kalaburagi district in the city on Friday, told The Hindu that the district in-charge Ministers of the six districts including Kalaburagi, Ballari, Raichur, Koppal, Yadgir and Bidar formally met in Bengaluru on November 19 and discussed the issues which should be taken up in the cabinet meeting in Kalaburagi.

Later, the group of Ministers called on the Chief Minister and requested him to convene a special meeting of the district in-charge ministers of Hyderabad Karnataka region for the special purpose of discussing the issues which are to be taken up in the cabinet meeting on November 28.

Mr. Islam said it was also decided in the November 19 meeting to ask all the Deputy Commissioners to prepare the list of important issues which should be taken up for discussion in the cabinet. In the meeting convened by the Chief Minister on November 23 in Bengaluru, these reports would be consolidated and weted by the senior officials and issues which are to be taken up for discussion would be finalised.

Mr. Islam mentioned that the Chief Minister, after the cabinet meeting, would brief the press and later lay the foundation stone for different development works amounting to over Rs. 200 crore in the KCT College ground in the city.

Meanwhile official sources told The Hindu that the cabinet is likely to take a decision on the establishment of a police commissionerate in Kalaburagi city, establishing a 50 bedded Unani Hospital and College in Sheikh Roza locality in the city, approve the proposal for construction of a new-state-of-art Government guest house with 25 VIP rooms in the land available in the Iwan-e-Shahi Guest House.

The sources said that the cabinet is also likely to approve the construction of multi-storeyed government employees quarters in a three-acre government land available behind the Chandrasekhar Patil Stadium to overcome the serious shortage of government quarters in the city, as against 11,500 government servants there were only 410 quarters available, approving the construction of a multi-storeyed parking complex in super market area in the city, approval for the construction of Public Works Department Bhavan in a five acre land in Kalaburagi city.

Sources said that the cabinet is also likely to take a decision on sanctioning additional 20 km construction of new road under the “Namma Mane Namma Raste” scheme in each of the assembly constituency in the six districts of the Hyderabad Karnataka region, and sanctioning additional unit one each to all the assembly constituencies in the Hyderabad Karnataka region under the Gram Vikas Yojna.
