Chitradurga Zilla Panahayat president Giri Jankal has instructed officers to clear bills for material supplied for works taken up under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and wages without delay.

Speaking at a Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) review meeting here on Monday, he said that the financial year was almost coming to an end and it was essential to clear wages as well as bills so that new action plan gets approval immediately.

The taluk panchayat executive officers should ensure that a board is installed at places where the works have been taken up under MGNREGA through a panchayat. He instructed the authorities to issue show-cause notices to officers who have remained absent in the meeting.
