Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha, who is also chairperson of National Festivals Celebration Committee, has asked district-level officers in Mysuru district to clean their offices on Sunday in view of the Republic Day celebrations on Monday.

This follows the Union and State governments and various organisations conducting cleanliness drives as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The R-Day celebrations will begin at 9 a.m. and cultural programmes will be held at Kalamandira at 6 p.m.

The Deputy Commissioner has also issued directions that cloth flags be used instead of plastic and paper flags.
