City police book 108 for drunken driving

The Mysuru city police booked a total of 108 drunken driving cases on Saturday night.

According to a press statement, the city police checked a total of 1,493 vehicles from 8.30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday as part of a special drive against drunken driving.

The driving licences of the persons were seized and sent to the Transport Department with a recommendation for their suspension. Of the 108 booked, 76 were driving two-wheelers and 20 were driving cars. While one was driving a jeep and another a passenger autorickshaw, two were driving heavy goods transport vehicles, three goods autorickshaws and five others were light goods transport vehicles.
