Children’s theatre fest in Udupi

The Rangabhumi would be organising a children’s theatre fest titled ‘Anandotsava’ at Muddana Mantapa on MGM College campus here from April 26 to 29.

Addressing presspersons here on Friday, Pradeepchandra Kuthpady, general secretary of the organising committee, said that the plays to be staged are ‘Dham Dhum Suntaragali’ written by Vaidehi and directed by Jeevanram Sullia on Sunday; ‘Hakki Haadu’ written by K. Ramaiah and directed by Raju Manipal, followed by ‘Rekke Kattuvira’ written by B. Suresh and directed by Sripad Bhat on April 27.

A Yakshagana puppetry show by Sri Ganesh Yakshagana Gombeyata Mandali would be held on April 28. The fest would conclude with theatre songs by Pandit Ravikiran and party, followed by the staging of the play ‘Huvi’ written by H.S. Venkateshmurthy and directed by Satyana Koderi. All the plays would be staged at 6.45 p.m. during the fest.

The fest was being held in the memory of theatre personality Kuthpady Ananda Ganiga. Vaidehi, writer and playwright, would inaugurate the children’s theatre fest on April 26.
