Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday warned secretaries, deputy commissioners and chief executive officers of zilla panchayats and other officers at the local level of dire action if they ignore development work and said that the authorities at their level should take steps to streamline administration.

According to some Ministers, who attended the meeting of senior bureaucrats at the Vidhana Soudha here, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that if the officers at the lower level could not initiate action for administrative reasons, they should write to the government, which would set things right. More than 20 Ministers and senior officers, including Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherji, attended the meeting.
