Chief Minister returns from Dalian

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who led a 22-member delegation to Dalian in China for the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), returned to Bangalore on Sunday.

The Chief Minister has, during the meeting, explained to delegates the potential sectors for investments in the State. The State would hold a Global Investors’ Meet in Bangalore next year.

Mr. Siddaramaiah also showcased at the forum his government’s flagship programme of providing 30 kg rice at Re. 1 per kg to the poor.

He explained the salient features of the scheme to the international audience and said that it would be strengthened once the Food Security Act of the Congress-led Union government was implemented in the State too.

He interacted with delegates from several countries, including Brazil and the Netherlands.

Mr. Siddaramaiah would brief the press about the trip on Monday.
